Euijoo
The pounding in my head continues relentlessly and keeps me from sleeping. The first thing I notice before even opening my eyes is the smell. A deep woodsy smell mixed with lavender. A smell I recognize easily.
Nicholas.
The next thing I notice is the warmth, but it’s not just from the heat. It’s the feeling inside me. Like, I’m perfectly content where I am.
I slowly open my eyes—my hair is covering my face, but I can make out a solid, bare chest I’m snuggled into.
Seriously, Eujoo, how did you end up here? What did I do last night?
Trying not to wake Nicholas, I slowly, carefully scootch away from him. It’s harder than I thought it was going to be, as his arms are tightly wrapped around me. I roll over and slide down to the end of the bed until I reach the floor.
Sneaking away on my hands and knees. Reaching the door, I turn the knob as quietly as I can.
I make it into the hallway, creeping on my tiptoes, hoping no one else is awake. I know it’s still really early because the sun isn't quite up yet. I don’t know when the Wangs wake up on the weekends.
I head down the stairs, careful to avoid the step with the creak in it. The fear of getting caught sneaking out is worse than the pain in my head. When I reach the final step, I wait and listen for any noises downstairs.
When it’s clear, I grab my shoes off the floor and leave without putting them on and run across the yard to my house.
My heart is pounding so fast. It’s not the fact that I woke up at Nicholas’ house that's freaking me out. If I had just found myself sleeping alone on the floor or even on the couch, I wouldn’t be so nervous right now. It’s the fact that I woke up not sleeping next to him but wrapped in his arms. That freaks me out.
Until I remember even a fraction of what happened between us last night, I’m going to play it safe and avoid something that could become awkward or weird for the both of us.
Did he drink last night? Does he remember what happened? If he does, there’s a high chance he’ll come looking for me. I just don’t know how soon that’ll be.
Sneaking into my own house is a first for me. I guess I don’t have to creep around at least. I just don’t want to wake my parents.
The first thing I do is get a large ass glass of water because my mouth is so damn dry. I grab some Advil from the cabinet and go up to my room.

After taking a shower and changing into some comfy clothes, I flop down onto my bed. I turn my head, looking at Nicholas’ hoodie lying there. I grab a ball of it in my fist, looking at it.
"Whose is this?”
