Author Notes:

<aside>

💬 my notes organization here changed so much over the course of the 6 months it took to write this 😂, especially from the very beginning with no clear storyline to having one and constantly changing it. Then reaching flow state with my notes—it slowly turns into a mess. and trying different functions out that the site offers. I even used canva flowchart for a beat and pasted it in here. That was not for me 😂 There also weren’t any chapter outlines when I first started. I just kind of went with the flow—kind of like letting the characters speak to me.

→The only characters who were even supposed to be in this story when I was planning it out were just Nico & Euijoo—I never planned to have 0t9 in the story when I thought of the idea. So I picked joo’s friends from this video https://youtu.be/4wMJcNMyV6I?si=WmgDktdWuGfhlef2 because it was just supposed to be a short simple story. K was supposed to play Maki’s role, but I ended up changing my mind before the chapter was finished and changed it to Maki. Harumaki was something I decided on suddenly later 🤷‍♀️ don’t know why since I’m not even a HaruMaki shipper. Now even less so since I became a Rikiz shipper in the middle of writing this story. It honestly makes me sad now 😭. Chapter 11 Maki’s Party Part 1, was actually written way ahead of time when I got a sudden idea, but I was only on chapter 7 at the time. After finishing and posting chapter 10, I woke up the next day at 6am and started writing chapter 12 and literally worked on it allllllll day until I finished it late that night and immediately posted the party chapters together. I don’t think I ever wrote a chapter so fast…😆 I also don’t know how I slow-burned for so long. I really thought I was incapable of slowly building romance—like, I want them together already too. 🥹

Summary: When Euijoo agrees to babysit his neighbors’ twins overnight, he expects spilled snacks, bedtime stories, and a quiet house. What he doesn’t expect is Nicholas Wang—jet-lagged, newly relocated, and standing in the living room at three in the morning—staring back at him like fate has terrible timing. Between school pickups, labeled meals, and two kids who adore their sitter, something gentle begins to grow in the in-between moments. Some connections arrive loudly. Others begin with a sleepy greeting and a soft, unexpected nǐ hǎo.

Notes: This story started where all my work started, on my Notion page lol. Where I start the groundwork of my stories. I worked on the plot of the story, the summary, all the characters’ roles, personalities, and traits. I only have a couple of specific scenes and lines that are in my head. Then it sat unworked on since Dec 5th.
